Alloy Wheel Refurbishment in Lincoln

Tired of looking at kerbed, scuffed or tired-looking wheels?

At Wrights Coatings, we specialise in full alloy wheel refurbishment in Lincoln, restoring everything from light kerb rash to badly corroded wheels back to a flawless finish.

Based at Unit 8, Riverside Enterprise Park, Saxilby, just outside Lincoln, we refurbish loose wheels and wheels on the car for trade and private customers.

Why refurbish your alloy wheels?

Refurbishing your alloys is usually far cheaper than replacing them and comes with a few big benefits:

  • Transforms the look of your car – fresh, clean wheels instantly lift the whole car.

  • Protects against corrosion – proper preparation and coating helps stop corrosion coming back.

  • Adds value when selling – tidy wheels give buyers confidence the car has been cared for.

  • Fixes annoying kerb rash – no more catching your eye every time you walk up to the car.

Whether it’s a daily driver, lease car going back, or your pride-and-joy project, we tailor the finish to suit.

What our alloy wheel refurbishment includes

Every set of wheels is different, but a typical refurb at Wrights Coatings includes:

  • Initial inspection & quote
We check for cracks, flat spots, previous repairs and heavy corrosion, then agree the work with you.

  • Tyre removal & valve removal (where required)
We safely remove tyres and valves so the whole wheel can be properly prepared and coated.

  • Stripping & cleaning
Any old paint, lacquer and heavy contamination is stripped away so we’re working with a clean base.

  • Shot blasting / media blasting
Wheels are blasted to remove corrosion, old coatings and surface defects, giving a consistent key for the new finish.

  • Repairs & preparation

    • Kerb damage and light gouges are dressed and smoothed.

    • Corrosion is treated.

    • Any agreed weld repairs or straightening are carried out where safe to do so.

  • Powder coating
We apply a durable powder coat finish in your chosen colour, then cure it in our oven for a tough, long-lasting finish.

  • Lacquer / top coat
A clear top coat is applied (where required) for extra gloss and protection.

  • Refitting & balance
Tyres and valves are refitted and wheels are balanced ready to go back on the car (if requested).

Colour and finish options

We keep a wide range of colours and finishes in stock so you’re not limited to “just silver”.

Popular choices include:

  • OEM-style silvers – ideal for modern BMW, Audi, VW, Ford and more.

  • Anthracite and graphite greys – a smart, modern look that works on almost any car.

  • Gloss black / satin black / matte black – aggressive, stealthy finishes that always look sharp.

  • Bronze and gold – perfect for performance and JDM-style builds.

  • Custom colours – if you have something specific in mind, just ask and we’ll see what we can do.

If you’re unsure, we’re happy to recommend a colour that suits your car and the sort of look you want.

Typical pricing & turnaround

Exact pricing depends on wheel size, condition and the finish you choose, but as a guide:

  • Standard alloy wheel refurbishment – from £75 per wheel

  • Heavily corroded wheels – priced on inspection

  • Cracked alloy repairs – quoted individually depending on severity and position of the crack

Most sets are turned around within 3-4 working days depending on workload and condition. If you’re on a deadline (e.g. lease return), let us know and we’ll do our best to work around it.

Alloy wheel refurbishment FAQs

How long does alloy wheel refurbishment take?
Most sets are completed within 3-4 working days depending on condition and finish. We’ll give you a more accurate timescale when we see the wheels.

Can you refurbish diamond-cut wheels?
In many cases we can provide a diamond-cut–style finish using powder and lacquer, which is more durable than traditional diamond cutting. Where that isn’t suitable, we’ll explain your options and what’s safest for the wheel.

Do I need to bring the car or just the wheels?
We can work with loose wheels or the whole car. If you bring the car, we can safely remove and refit the wheels on-site.

Will refurbishment fix all damage?
We can usually remove kerb rash, light gouges and corrosion. If there’s severe structural damage or a crack in a dangerous area, we’ll always be honest if a repair isn’t safe.
